On the evening of Friday, May 28th, 5 mins after getting home from another long day at Chicano Nuevo  all of the building alarms started to go off. At this time the entire building consumed by a devastating fire. Fortunately, Courtney, Abraham & Taco were able to evacuate the building unharmed. While they might be able to salvage some of their belonging the likelihood of them being able to occupy the space again is very slim.

Victims of fires face tremendous emotional stress and financial costs and we hope to alleviate some of the stress that they will face as they begins to rebuild. Courtney & Abraham are pilers within our community from years behind the bar or creating an amazing community hub for amazing food. These amazing humans always give back and now its our time to give to them in return.

Part of why Chicano Nuevo's operation is possible is due to the access to affordable housing in beautiful Bernal Heights. 

Any amount you can donate will go directly to Courtney, Abraham & Taco to help them offset expenses that insurance will not cover and to help keep Chicano Nuevo a float while find out what their next steps are in this unfortunate time.
