Courtlyn Shoate Memorial Fund

To those that knew and loved Courtlyn Shoate,

 

This GoFundMe has been organized by Courtlyn's friends to help his family with funeral costs. All excess funds will go towards education savings accounts for Courtlyn's niece and nephews.

 

His memorial service will be held at Bartlesville First Church (4715 Price Rd, Bartlesville, OK 74006) on April 30th at 11:00 am.

 

Visitation hours will be on Friday April 29th 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Stumpff Funeral Home.

In an effort to provide transparency to our donors, it should be known that funds raised for this effort will be transferred to an account owned by Benjamin Brammer, a financial professional and one of Courtlyn's childhood friends. The decision to house these funds in a personal account as opposed to an entity was based mostly around tax considerations and disbursement flexibility i.e. the ability to meet short term, medium term, and long term or legacy financial needs of both the Shoate family and Courtlyn's legacy.

All team members of this fundraiser have audit capabilities/permission for this account and the funds are not being co-mingled with anything not-related to the Courtlyn Shoate memorial fund's stated purpose. To reiterate, funds will be used to pay for funeral costs, legal fees for any probate needs, and any other immediate expenses related to Courtlyn's estate. All excess funds will be disbursed into a 529 account in the names of Courtlyn's nieces and nephews.
