Bienvenue sur la cagnotte de notre court-métrage : Le dernier Voyage.
« Le Dernier Voyage » est une histoire simple. Suite à la disparition tragique d’un père … Une mère et sa fille de 12 ans, seront-elles capables de redéfinir un chemin de vie commun … Et au prix de quels sacrifices !

L’histoire de Neige, Eva, Simon et Nicholas s’est nourrie du temps qui passe, de ma passion pour le cinéma et les histoires fortes mais également de mon propre cheminement professionnel dans le savoir-faire narratif et la réalisation de film.

Welcome to the crowdfunding of my new short film: Le Dernier Voyage/The Last Voyage
"The Last Voyage" is a simple story. Following the tragic death of the father, will the mother and her 12-year-old daughter be able to rebuild their life together? And at what price?

The story of Snow, Eva, Simon and Nicholas has been fine-tuned over the past several years by my passion to tell a good story. And with your help, I will bring it to life with my experience in film making and narrative know-how.

The story is a “huit clos,” what goes on behind closed doors. The selection and direction of the actors is fundamental. The Last Voyage is an actors’ film.
Snow: Celya Ansaldo, 13 years old (theater, dubbing) has great introspection.
Eva: Déborah GRALL (televison series, film) is an up and coming actress.
Simon: Alexandre Gillet (theater, tv, dubbing) is an experienced actor.

✅ 20/11/2019 / ETAPE I : RETOUR SUR LE DÉROULÉ DU TOURNAGE
On l’a fait ! 6 jours de tournage pleins, 8 jours en incluant la journée de mise en place et celle de “remise en place”. 19 professionnels, plus 3 a 4 invites par jour (pour ceux qui ont pu venir) et sans compter les soutiens en figuration … Bref 35 personnes ont partagé ces quelques jours intenses.
Ce fut un tournage en “coloc” … Autrement dit : Tous ensemble pendant 6 jours. Nous étions tous délocalisés sur place ou alentours. Et ça change tout : L’implication, la concentration, les échanges, la convivialité … Et le partage festif ! Démarrage 6h30 et fin de tournage 19h (environ) … après …
Comme dans beaucoup de tournage, nous ne nous connaissions pas tous. L’équipe reposait donc sur les choix de la production et du réalisateur. Pour un court métrage ou chacun donne sans forcement être rémunéré de façon habituelle, les “personnes” sont clés.
En fait, ce fut totalement harmonieux, y compris avec les acteurs. Aucune fausse note, tiraillement, nervosité, etc. Tout pour le film.
Les lieux de tournage étaient magiques … voir page ci- dessous. A rajouter une météo clémente jusqu’en milieu de semaine, puis un peu versatile … mais étonnamment à l’écoute de notre plan de tournage.
Nous avons tourné 37 séquences, soit près de 140 plans … donc environ 22 plans par jour.
A vrai dire, il nous aurait sans doute fallu une journée de plus, mais … C’est l’enjeu et l’aléa de ce type de projet et nous avons optimisé nos plans … Ce n’est pas pour rien qu’un tournage, prend le titre de “seconde écriture” !
Un mot sur mes acteurs et j’aurais du commencer par cela : Ils ont été remarquables. Le sujet n’est pas facile, Deborah Grall et Celya Ansaldo (son premier rôle) ont su se souder et garder cette sobriété qui me paraissait indispensable. Quant à Alexandre Gillet, il fut parfait dans son caractère de personnage lisse et hors de tout reproche. MERCI à eux. Ils concourent de façon essentielle à la qualité de ce film.

Well, we did it! 6 full days of filming, 8 days including a day for set-up and another for breakdown. 19 people for cast and crew, 3 to 4 supporters who came to the set each day, plus our great extras... In all 35 people came together to share these intense few days.
It was a "roommate" shoot ... In other words, all of us lived together in close quarters for 6 days. And it changes everything: the personal involvement, concentration, exchanges over breakfast, conviviality ... And the festive sharing! Starting each day at 6:30am and filming till 7pm, sometimes later…
As with many film shoots, we did not all know each other at the beginning. Each member of the team was carefully chosen by the director. For a short film where each person gives of themselves without necessarily being remunerated as usual, each member of the team is essential.
There was total harmony, in front of and behind the camera. Everyone was on the same page, in tune. All focused on the same objective, on bringing a story to life, on the film.
The filming locations were magical. Add to that good weather, at least until mid-week, then a little capricious... but amazingly in step with our filming schedule!
We shot 37 sequences, about 140 shots ... so about 22 shots per day.
To tell the truth, we could have used one more day of filming, but this is the challenge and the risk of this type of project and we had to optimize every shot. It’s not for nothing that a film shoot can be called a "second rewrite!"
A word about my actors and I should have started with this: They were remarkable. The subject is not easy, Deborah Grall and Celya Ansaldo (her first role) were able to bond and keep this restraint which seemed to me indispensable. As for Alexandre Gillet, he was perfect in his role of a smooth character beyond reproach. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for bringing the characters to life. Their professionalism plays a vital role in the quality of this film.

1- Montage
C’est la troisième écriture après celle du scenario puis du tournage … Dérushage, premier “ours” puis traitement dans le temps pour tendre vers le meilleur en y agrégeant le son la musique et l’étalonnage. Outre le réalisateur, 2 professionnels accompagne le montage : Jean Christophe Bousy et Patrick Noël. Le final cut devrait se faire autour de fin Mars 2020.
2- Animation 2D
25 seconds de dessin animé s’insèrent au coeur de l’histoire (un moment de rêve de Neige). Juan Antin, réalisateur du dessin animé nominé aux césars en 2019 “Pachamama” accompagne le projet. Résultat attendu en Janvier 2020.
3- Bande sonore
Ingrédient majeur de ce film, la bande son, (voix, bruitages, atmosphere) est assuré par Marc Antoine Beldent, ingénieur son, césarisé en 2002 pour “Sur mes lèvres” de Jacques Audiard et nominé pour “Guillaume et les garçons à table”
4- Musique originale
Jeune compositeur de musiques à l’image, Marc Hazart est déjà en mode recherche pour server une musique à l’écoute de ce court métrage. Marc a déja compose pour “un roi et son people” Fatchamama” et de nombreux documentaires. La Musique originale se définira en final sans doute en février 2020

Now the next step: Post Production You will be able to follow the progress and the different stages.
1- Editing
This is the "third rewrite" after writing the script then filming. Sorting through the rushes, the first "draft" then putting the sequences in order and adding sound, music and calibration of color and lighting. In addition to the director, two professionals work on the editing: Jean-Christophe Bousy and Patrick Noël. The final cut should be done towards the end of March 2020.
2- 2D Animation
At the heart of the story there is a dream sequence with Snow with 25 seconds of animation. Juan Antin, director of "Pachamama," an animated film nominated for a César in 2019, heads the project. Expected to be completed in January 2020.
3- Soundtrack
A major ingredient of this film, the soundtrack (voice, sound effects, atmosphere) is provided by Marc-Antoine Beldent, sound engineer who won a César in 2002 for "Sur mes lèvres" by Jacques Audiard and nominated for "Guillaume et les garçons à table."
4- Original Music
Young composer of music for films, Marc Hazart is already working on the music of this short film. Marc has already composed the music for "Un roi et son people, "Fatchamama," and numerous documentaries.
The original music will be ready most likely in February 2020.
Next Steps once the film is completed:
Creation of a movie poster and other materials,
press relations, a screening in the Bordeaux area followed by an after party, festival submissions...
