Course Survival

Donation protected

The Coronavirus-19 pandemic has put my dream in jeopardy.  I started my love of golf at age 14 when I went to work as a shop assistant and then later as the course superintendent at a course in North East Indiana before entering the Marine Corps in 1972.  After my active duty tour I came back to golf for a short period of time before becoming an Indiana State Trooper.  After 33 years of police work and 38 years of military and a tour of duty in Afghanistan it became time to retire.

I found this little golf course in North West Ohio which had been out of operation for two and half years. The owner and I agreed to a land contract.  After a year and half of mowing the high grass and weeds down my wife and I reopened the course.

The course sits in a sparsely populated county with a small but dedicated golf population.  We have maintained the course on volunteer help since we bought it and were hopping this would be the year we would be able to open our restaurant and hire some employees to help with the operation.  Well a long story short the Coronavirus pandemic has cut all walk on play and only 1/3 of my members have rejoined.  For the third year in a row we are losing the whole spring and need help surviving.  My course is dedicated to the memory of fallen veterans and I let high school golfers play my course for free in a desire to promote the sport.  I don’t want to lose what has been developed for this community so I’m asking for some help with this go fund me page
