Courageous is a spunky golden retriever who has certainly earned her name. Born with no eyes and being met with many health challenges along her journey, Courageous is living proof that no matter what disadvantages one may face, it is possible to adapt and live a happy, full life.
Until recently, Courageous has worked actively with a not-for-profit organization called Partner Dogs Canada. This organization works to provide medically qualified individuals with Service Dogs free of charge, by breeding, training and caring for these Service Dogs until they are able to partner up with someone in need. Partner Dogs also works to bring Therapy Dogs into public spaces to spread joy and hope where it’s needed most.
Courageous has visited many schools throughout her career as a Therapy Dog, bringing light to the days of many. She is currently unable to serve as a Therapy Dog due to medical limitations she’s experiencing.
Courageous requires an extensive surgery to overcome these complications she’s facing. Once she’s undergone this surgery and recovered, she can get back to doing what she loves — inspiring others in her community.
Courageous is scheduled for surgery in early July, 2025. We are asking for support in raising $9000 total to cover the costs of the veterinary bill.
Partner Dogs Canada will be happy to have this lovely addition to the family back to her regular self, working with others, and we would greatly appreciate ANY donations, no matter the size.
