ADA: A COURAGEOUS, LOYAL, LOVING, GERMAN SHEPHERD, NEEDS YOUR HELP

On Nov 27, Ada was lost when she slipped out of her collar during a walk. She was attacked by something—pack of coyotes or dogs, or another predator, resulting in a horribly wounded leg. Even though she had a very painful, badly injured leg, she managed to make her way home.

Ada’s Diagnosis: “Severe cellulitis of the left hind leg with degloving injury and tendon damage. Prognosis: Fair for survival of the leg, and good for her survival.” Option was to amputate, but amputation also has risks.

A degloving injury is extremely painful. Nevertheless, Ada made her way home to Tim, her special person, which is astounding. If I had a way of adding the “graphic warning” label on the photos of her injury, I would be willing to publish them but don’t know how that is done.

Tim is on disability, and Ada has been his comfort thru recent times of grief. This is a season of extra expenses for families, but also a season of giving. If you can give a little help for Ada’s expenses, with any amount, you will be giving a gift of healing. Tim will be very grateful.

Ada is receiving care at East Mtn Veterinary Service. Costs for her current hospital care are now at about $700. It will take 6-12 months for her leg to heal, requiring 2-3 visits each month to the vet, with an estimate of $100 plus per visit.

UPDATE: Ada was set to go home today, but is now fighting an infection. We hope her courageous heart will continue to help her stay strong.
