October 14th, 2022, was the day I found out that breast cancer had developed in me. One month ago, my world was turned upside down. 

It was already sideways; as a single mom who lost my business in Covid, then a temporary job and a layoff in 2022 from a temporary job back to starting from scratch, it was not a good time for this diagnosis. It’s never a good time for breast cancer, yet having little support and being financially unstable is very stressful.

I’m so grateful for the outpouring from my spiritual community in a few family members. 

On November 16, I’ll have a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node testing. 

From there will wait for the results for the determination of chemo or not and radiation and hormone therapy will follow.
