Who I Am
My name is Christopher Merbler, I am currently an aspiring filmmaker finishing my Master of Fine Arts degree from DePaul University in Chicago Illinois.

What I’m Doing
I will be making a short film over the next year for my thesis project. This is a required project to graduate and I’d really like to do that or the last three years will have been a very expensive vacation in Chicago.
What I Need
Making a movie isn’t cheap and it’s money I don’t currently have under my mattress so that’s where all of you come in….Help me reach my goal of raising $5,500 to make my Thesis film a reality. And who knows, I might be famous one day and you can tell everyone you know “I helped in making someone’s dreams become a reality!”
Why SOOO Much Money?
The money will be used for every aspect of the film’s production process. We will need to purchase equipment, props, and wardrobes for the cast. We will also need to pay for location rental, food for the crew and actors (they’re big eaters), as well as permits and legal stuff (to keep from getting sued and having to start another one of these). We will also need an original music soundtrack made just for my film, which doesn’t come cheap. Finally, we will be submitting to film festivals around the world so everyone can experience the great work that you helped make possible!
Where Does The Money Go?
We’ve all seen some really bad low budget movies and nobody wants to live through another one of those nightmares right? Here is a checklist of all the expenses that need to be covered to make this film a success:
· Equipment Rental: $0 ( All equipment had been donated)
· Festival Fees: $500
· Locations Rental: $1,000
· Post Production Fees: $750
· Permits: $500
· Props: $500
· Public Services: $1,000
· Music Soundtrack: $750
· Food: $500
Who Doesn’t Love Recognition?
Here is the fun part. Hollywood loves award shows and recognition! I’m going to help you get recognized for your generous contribution to my film project. The more you contribute to my film the bigger celebrity you will be (at least in my mind)
The Close
If you made it this far you’re likely my parents, my brother, my sister, a close relative, a good friend or someone that really cares about helping me realize my lifelong dream of succeeding in the film industry. Glad you’re still with me. All that’s left to do now is DONATE!
Thank you for your generosity,
Chris Merbler
