"Countermove" - Short Heist Film

"Countermove" is a short heist/drama film about a high school student who devises a genius plan to save his dying mom -- he's going to rob a diner.

The story follows the student, Mattie, as he devises his plan and does his best to execute it. However, setbacks and struggles are inevitable, and ultimately, there may be more to his heist than meets the eye.

Written and Directed by Jack Tortland, a senior Visual Media Arts student at Emerson College, "Countermove" is a film about perseverance, outsmarting your opponent, and doing whatever it takes to save your family.  In order to make the film achievable, we're asking for $3,000 in order to pay for equipment rental (lenses, lighting, etc.), food, and actor salaries. Ultimately, we're looking to take this to film festivals to share this story with others, as well as hopefully jumpstart our budding filmmaking careers.

Donation Rewards:

Any amount: Your name will be included as a "Special Thanks" credit at the end of the film.

$50+: You will receive a PDF copy of the original script for "Countermove".

$100+: You will receive a rough cut of the film once it has reached that stage in editing.

$500+: You will be credited as an Executive Producer, and are welcome to join us in whatever festival we attend to show "Countermove".

We look forward to your support!
