Archie was born on the 01/12/2023 with an extremely rare metabolic condition - OTC Deficiency (Ornithine Transcarbamylase Deficiency) He is one of around 20 boys of his age in the UK known to currently have this condition, and as a male is at a higher risk of serious complications which can be life threatening. When he was flown down from Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by the Air Ambulance to Glasgow Childrens Hospital after I had given him CPR at just 3 days old we were told if any family members wanted to meet him they should come to visit within 48 hours. He continues to smash barriers and is known as the miracle boy by his extensive team of medical professionals as he is now 19 months of age. Archie suffered severe brain damage during this time causing Cerebral Palsey, and is currently on the liver transplant waiting list, as a liver would be the best course of treatment for him, and we are are hopeful that following initial consultations and assessments that I am a match as a potential living liver donor.
Whilst the NHS and community support team have provided him with so much and needed care there are certain things that are not covered due to his condition and our location, and as such we are needing to trying to raise significant funds for his continued well being and care.
We are hoping to level out our garden are to erect a small unit as a therapy suite for Archie and would like to appeal to anyone who may be able to help with this, whether it be a small financial donation or a small portion of your time to help us build this for him.
If anyone could spare an hours wages, or an hour of their time to support him we would be eternally grateful, and if not a like and share would massively help. Thankyou.
Thank you.
Jon, Anna and Wee Archie.
