Cough. Help me if you can. Cough. I'm feeling down. Cough.

I'm sick. Boo!

As someone who prides themselves on "never getting sick" and who is stubbornly self-sufficient, I've been hit with a double whammy. I got bacterial pneumonia (which reached my heart; yikes!), and have been hospitalized and can't afford to complete my treatment. Bummer.

So, here I am in a hospital bed in Vietnam, sick and without medical insurance or a job (How is supposed to be working by now, but I had a problem with my Visa). I put what I could on my high-interest credit card but still need some funds to complete the treatment. I've been here a few days already and I'm slowly getting better, but I'm not yet out of the woods.

So, I'm asking my community (that's you) for help to get me through.

Fortunately, medical care here is relatively affordable, so it doesn't take much.

If you're able to toss some money in the pot, not only would I be grateful, but you could call yourself a hero as it would help to save my life. Was that dramatic enough? I would keep going... but I'm way too tired.

Per usual, my spirits are high and I'm keeping on keeping on. It's what I do.

PS. To make matters worse, I left my Kindle at the hostel where I stay. I was able to get one book here in English:Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. Thought my first choice, and it's better than nothing, but what can I do?
