Couch to Toughmudder (in 5 months)

I currently cannot run more than 1km, but will be doing the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 10km in May, and a 15km Toughmudder in June, to raise money and awareness for Wellbeing of Women, a charity that support womens health, including supporting providing webinars, sharing information, and supporting other charities.

I have Adenomyosis, and as part of my treatment for this I em experiencing chemical menopause at 28. This is not something I had on my life plan, and is not something that is well researched or documented. By supporting Wellbeing of Women, I'm hoping to increase the awareness and research associated with these conditions, and the impact it has on my life.

Adenomyosis is where endometrial cells grow within the wall of the uterus. This causes pain throughout the month, fatigue, body wide inflammation, sleep disturbances, and more.

Treatment of this condition, for me, involves taking hormonal medicatiom that shuts off my ovaries, inducing menopause. This has caused me to develop brain fog and forgetfulness, has caused my ADHD and autism symptoms to increase to a degree that affects my ability to do my job, and has changed how my body reacts to mental and physical stress, which is doubly fun considering I have CPTSD.

The most frustrating thing is that my treatment for Anedomyosis has not stopped all of my symptoms; I still suffer from debilitating pain that means I can't work or go for a 15 minute walk.

I'm raising money for Wellbeing of Women to fund research into Adenomyosis and other female health conditions, and to spread awareness of the impact of menopause on women's lives.
