Help Cotton Family- Fire Victims
Donation protected
On Wednesday afternoon, September 9th a fire tore through an apartment complex in Garden Grove . Julie had been home alone a short time after returning from work from the City of Garden Grove. Her husband was at work and her 9 year old son was at a school. Julie's smoke alarm began to go off. She saw smoke coming from her door. A fire broke out in the stairwell and Julie was trapped in her upstairs apartment. Thankfully a quick thinking neighbor assisted her, got a mattress and ladder. Julie was forced to jump from the second floor to safety. Luckily no one was seriously injured. The apartment complex suffered over 170k in damages. The Cotton family's unit was severely damaged. Julie and her family lost almost everything in the fire.
Julie and her husband are a hard working family. They did not have renters insurance and are in need family, friends, co-workers and the community to help them get back on their feet.
Julie works part time with the City and is also an active community member who volunteers many hours with her son's and step-childrens school and sports programs.
Please help Julie and her family rebuild their lives. Any help is appreciated.
