Friends & family,
The outpouring of support has been incredible. Thank you so much!
It has been a whirlwind of a few days since evacuating on Thursday afternoon and learning that night that our house had burned in the fires.
First, we are grateful that we are all safe and healthy. Second, we are grateful for the amazing outreach of support from friends, family, current & former co-workers, classmates, teammates, teachers, and more. We have literally heard from dozens to hundreds of people. We know of organized efforts to help by both of our workplaces, Eva's school, Lilah's track & cross-country teams, Eva's soccer team, our realtor from 17 years ago when we moved to CO, multiple friend groups, our temple, and we're probably forgetting some.
With so many people asking how they can help, we decided we would ask for contributions so the girls can get clothes and furnish their rooms in our soon-to-be rental house. Please know that your moral and emotional support is more than enough. We are very lucky to have good insurance, great jobs, and even better friends who are helping.
If we receive more than is needed we will contribute it to the Boulder County Wildfire Fund (https://www.commfound.org/).
Love,
Doug, Carrie, Lilah, Eva (and Nora - the furry sister)
