Cotopaxi: Strings for Success

Since the beginning of the school year in August, I have been asked the same question almost everyday:

"Can I play the guitar?"

Cotopaxi schools is a Title 1 school that has supplied every single instrument to their students since the inception of the program because of generous donations. There is no opportunity in the area for instrumental rentals, instrumental purchases, or private lessons. Students do not have an opportunity to learn guitar, piano, or any other instrument outside of the band program. Over 90% of polled students say they would be interested in music if there was a guitar program established.

The guitar is a versatile instrument that allows students to play music from any musical background. Having a guitar program at Cotopaxi will allow entrance of more students into the music program and give students more options to make music outside of a concert band setting.

These students crave to play the guitar, and I want nothing more than to help them be able to play it!

Since students cannot afford to rent or buy their own instruments, I need help bringing guitars to students that want to play. Even though the school is small, they love to get together and make art and music for the world!

Cotopaxi needs your help in order to supply guitars to its eager students!

Thank you for your generous support to the musical education of our students!
