My husband Cota has had several illnesses & hospitalizations following his 2020 diagnosis of End Stage Kidney disease. The latest was in April of this year. He had sepsis and cellulitis in his right leg. We did not think he would pull through this, but by God's grace, he did. He was sent to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation when released from the hospital. He was there for twelve days and received absolutely NO rehabilitation; he was lying in bed 24/7. He got Covid there and was put into isolation. I moved him to another facility on June 7th, where he is currently. He receives physical and occupational therapy and goes to dialysis three days a week. He is still frail in his lower extremities and has no strength in his arms because his shoulder joints are necrotic and need replacements. He is not able to ambulate and is using a wheelchair. He is in his wheelchair daily, but they have to use a lift to do the transfers. When he is discharged, he will be in his wheelchair. HERE IS OUR PROBLEM.... we live in a mobile home and have seven stairs to gain entry/exit. We need to install a porch lift to allow Cota to get into/out of our home. The front porch and stairs must be modified, and the porch lift will be installed. It is costly, and we are on a fixed income and cannot afford it.

Please help us be able to get Cota back into our home. Our granddaughter Elyse misses her grandpa so much that she cannot visit him at the SNF due to her age. She needs to be able to sit on his lap in his chair and make him laugh with her antics again. Grandpa needs that to happen even more.
