Costs of Integrative Oncology Treatment

Donation protected
I write this appeal for support with a heavy heart, it is hard to find the words, as I know is the case for the rest of Trish’s family and friends.

Where do I start, Trish Jackson, what an inspirational human. Trish is a wonderful, strong, resilient and optimistic person who explores this world with an enthusiasm for life that is infectious. All that have had the pleasure to know her will agree . I struggle to find the words to express how special Trish is to us all. As most of you reading this will know, Trish has four amazing daughters. These incredible women are just like their mother; a beautiful force of nature, impressive, independent and an absolute credit to her.

The girls (known as The Jackson 5) know I am doing this appeal and I have their approval to set up this fund. Along with me they would like to thank you for taking the time to read the reason we are asking for financial help for the long journey ahead.

Most of you receiving this appeal will know that in August of this year Trish was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer that has metastasised to her liver and lymph nodes.

It was a huge shock to us all, as Trish has always seemed so healthy and fit, she only began to feel unwell in late July. The wonderful staff in the NHS have taken no time in aiding Trish and she has been going into Guys Hospital London every fortnight for chemotherapy and additional treatment. Trish has recently finished her 4th round of chemotherapy on the 7th of November, Trish is scheduled for 12 rounds at this stage.

Since being diagnosed Trish has been doing considerable research and would like to use integrated therapies and alternative treatments alongside her chemotherapy in order to ensure the best results. The aim is to fortify and support her body to aid in endurance as well as reduce the side effects of conventional treatments. The therapies include (but aren’t limited to) consultations with integrative oncology physicians, targeted nutrition plans, meditation, lifestyle change exploration and high-dose vitamin C injections, all of which would be tailored specifically to Trish's diagnosis by the specialists.

Trish is currently in the process of moving her treatments to the Royal Marsden, to be closer to home and where they work alongside the Integrative Oncology teams.

These treatments have been proven to help with managing side effects both physically and mentally, helping her body be at its strongest to cope with the chemotherapy. Unfortunately, this all comes at a cost.

With that being said, I now appeal to all family and friends who share the love of our amazing Trish, if possible please donate whatever feasible to help and support Trish on her treatment journey. On behalf of Trish and the girls Thank You in advance. We are all very appreciative and grateful for all support.

My sincerest thanks for your time, my best wishes to you all.

Kindest regard

Kath
