Hi everyone,

My name is Kayla and I am so beyond blessed to know this wonderful, goofy, and beautiful husky, Iggy.

As many of you know, a week ago Iggy had a drastic change in her health. She went from walking on Wednesday to being completely paralyzed in her two back legs by Friday. In the short time that this happened, there were four of us that dropped everything to make sure we got Iggy the care that she needed. This meant going to 4 Paws for the initial vet check and then making our way to PEI to hopefully get Iggy surgery so she could walk again.

Unfortunately, the area of the hemorrhage took up a large portion of the spinal canal, which made Iggy ineligible for surgery. She was diagnosed with T3-L3 myelopathy with hindlimb paralysis.

Thankfully Iggy has four loving people that are willing to do anything to make her new life as amazing as before. This includes weekly check-ups at the vet, physiotherapy, medication, and taking time off work to make sure that she is resting for the 8 weeks that are needed.

Although we will do anything to make sure that Iggy receives the care that she needs, we also are aware that things are adding up very fast. It has been a debate on starting a GoFundMe because we are finding ways to manage. However, with other costs of living, we are deciding that any help would be greatly appreciated.
