Expenses from a random car crash into my home

On Friday, February 17th, I received a phone call at around 10:30 am that a random car crashed through our home injuring my mother-in-law, Marie, and causing catastrophic damage to the structure. The house has since been deemed unsuitable for dwelling. We are currently displaced, staying with friends and family, as we navigate the insurance process.

Although, this was truly a random event and we have not yet received full details as to how or why this accident could have occurred, we are extremely thankful that it did not take place while our children were home as the car drove through the living room where they would have been sitting just a few hours later. We are also grateful to the medical team at ORMC that took such great care of my mother-in-law and performed successful emergency surgery. She has since been discharged with some pain, but is in good spirits.
