My name is Aiyana Holland. I am a freshman at Lander University Honors College. I am a responsible and ambitious student majoring in Elementary Education to ultimately serve my community as an educator/teacher upon graduation.
The purpose of this gofundme is to ask for your help with my Lander University Teach Abroad trip to Costa Rica this coming spring, May 2020. The total cost is $3950.

Purpose
The 2020 Costa Rica Teach Abroad trip has one central goal: to make an academic impact on the students we teach in Costa Rica. To meet this goal, I will concentrate on three objectives:
• Improve Spanish communication skills
• Develop a deeper understanding of Central American history and culture
• Enhance ability to teach Second Language
Program Summary
A teacher education study abroad trip in San Jose, Costa Rica with La Universidad de las Ciencias y el Arte will be a 4 week program for sophomore-senior students in the teacher education program or interested in ESL instruction, and will include the following:
Classroom observations: Students will observe and support teachers in small, private, bilingual institutions.
Trip Leader Bio
Dr. Vartanian has travelled extensively in Africa, Asia, and Central America. While at Lander, he has led three multi-week study abroad trips to Guatemala (2010, 2014, 2016) as well as a four week Asia Summer Study Tour (2012).
