Cost of surgery and travel expenses

My sister Tonya has been suffering from craniocervical instability and ehlers-danlos Syndrome. The craniocervical instability has affected her everyday life, she is no longer able to drive, do physical activities, and basic daily tasks she needs to do to take care of her family is a struggle. The disease is progressive and without this surgery things will only get worse for her and her family. The doctor that specializes with this type of surgery is in Maryland, and is out of her network for insurance purposes, they are required to put down a large part of the payment upfront. $9000 is needed to pay for the surgery and does not include doctor visit expenses and ct scan  required right before surgery. Joe, her husband will also have to take unpaid time off work to travel to Maryland for an unknown amount of time and to care for Tonya while she recovers. Any amount helps.
