Cost of Medical Expenses For Al Neumann

Hello everyone, my name is Mikayla Mitchell. I created this go fund me to help raise donations for my Uncle. My uncle Has been a quadriplegic for over 20 years, due to an unfortunate swimming accident. My grandparents are my uncles primary care takers but are in their late 80s and it has become increasingly difficult physically , emotionally, and mentally for my grandparents to provide around the clock care for my uncle. Myself and extend family also provide as much care as possible for him, when able. My uncle is one of the most selfless, high spirited, optimistic people you will ever meet. Throughout all of his struggles he has been able to keep composure and optimism. He has been the largest role model to me in my life and I would love to help him and my grandparents in anyway possible, in covering the costs for a new wheelchair , a morning and night nurse to assist with His needs, and the consistent strain that medical expenses has brought them. Our goal is to hopefully cover the cost of a new motorized wheelchair which is around $40,000. His current chair is almost 17 years old and is on its way out. The expenses of a care taker are not covered by health care insurance, nor a lot of medical expenses and supplies due to the fact that he was not born with a condition that put him in a wheelchair. Although my uncle has been in a wheelchair for over half of his life , this has not defined him or what he is capable of achieving. He works as a physical therapist, helping provide comfort and relief to others in pain and discomfort, he has graduated with a bachelor’s and masters degree and gives back to others in anyway that he can. My uncle loves his Detroit Sports, garden, and his occasional Netflix binge in his free time. He has done so much for me in my lifetime and would love to help give back in any way possible.
