2 Aneurysms In 9 Months-Avalanche Of Medical Bills

Donation protected
On November 30th, 2022, Pam was on her way home from work when all the lights/warning systems started flashing on her car and the car engine stalled and fortunately she was able to coast to the side of the road in very heavy traffic. After she let it set for awhile, she tried cranking it and it started and she was able to make it home. Later that evening she called a friend from out of town to get some guidance on what may be wrong. He directed her to some different areas to start looking and in doing so she was going to have to disconnect the battery. She looked for some tools to do this and she did not have any tools that fit her battery cables. Her friend suggested she go across the street to a neighbor to borrow one but she did not feel comfortable in doing so since it was late. Next suggestion was go to Auto Zone and get one but it was right at their closing time so she knew they would be closed before she could get there. She decided to call a co-worker and see if she could bring tools over for her to use and ask her to lend her a ride to work the next day. Co-worker agreed but better than that, she sent her husband over with the tools and he volunteered to help diagnose the problem. While he was there, Pam still had her friend on the phone and he was hearing co-workers husband and her communicating. After about 15 minutes, friend on the phone heard a commotion of sorts and heard the husband tell Pam, “hold on. I’ll get you some help.” At the same time her phone was disconnected from her friend. Pam had basically collapsed right there in the driveway and unbeknownst, friends’ husband was a military paramedic. He called 911 and cared for her while waiting and when they arrived she was unresponsive and they took her to the local hospital.

Let me interject here that Pam is a Sister In Christ and how God interceded and orchestrated all of the events leading up to her being in the back of an ambulance. To start with, in reality when her car engine stalled that afternoon on the way home from work, there was no way she should have been able to make it to the right shoulder of the road because the engine stalled in the left lane but she was able to maneuver her vehicle thru the right lane (4 lane highway) to the shoulder of the road in bumper to bumper, unrelenting traffic. Next, that evening when she did not walk across the street and try to borrow tools, God was there orchestrating. When it was too late to go to Auto Zone to get tools, God was there orchestrating. When her co-worker sent her husband over to help instead of co-worker bringing the tools over herself and dropping them off, God was there orchestrating. You see, what happened to Pam, when she collapsed, she had a brain aneurysm. Had she went over to the neighbors house to get tools, she would have died right there in her driveway because it was night time and nobody would have seen her when she collapsed and she would have most likely bled to death. Had she been able to go to Auto Zone and get tools, same scenario, nobody would have known and she would have died in her driveway. In addition, God not only sent help, he specifically sent a paramedic to help.

After being taken to a local hospital, they realized the severity of her condition and air lifted her in the middle of the night to a larger hospital and even then God was not through intervening. When most people have a brain aneurysm, they bleed out very quickly and for this reason you rarely hear of anyone surviving an aneurysm but miraculously her blood clotted and surgery was performed the next morning. God was still orchestrating. As critical as she was, Pam had no recollection of anything from the time she collapsed in her driveway until 4 days later after her surgery. Her surgery was successful on December 1st…..basically to make sure her brain did not start bleeding again. They went back in in January to consummate the surgery in a more permanent way as to make sure she was not in danger of that vessel rupturing again.

She was in the hospital, mostly ICU, for over 30 days and then a few days for physical therapy. Her Neurosurgeon said she was a miracle to survive at all and then how she progressed with her recovery to completely normal. He said that in itself was amazing because that just doesn’t happen. She returned to work in March 2023 and picked right back up to where she left off, almost as nothing ever happened. Thank You Jesus!!

Of course the doctors had a multitude of angiograms, MRI’s and records and Pam had to go in for a follow-up in July 2023 for another angiogram. After a couple of weeks they called and wanted her to come back in for a consultation. Her Neurosurgeon met with her for over an hour. He said after she was released in January and his reviewing her angiogram, he noticed a small inclusion on a vessel in her brain and made a note to follow up on it at her July appointment. In comparing the January and July angiogram he found that the area of concern had increased in size and unfortunately….. is another aneurysm. On the bright side it is not showing signs of bleeding yet but on the other hand it could bleed at any time….aneurysms are unpredictable, that’s why most people die when they have one. The doctor said that many people are walking around with an aneurysm or aneurysms and don’t even know it until it is too late. Fortunately he is very proficient at his job and detected it. He said this one is much more dangerous than the other due to it’s location. Will require skin pulled back, muscle and skull removal to access it and again, the depth of where it is located in her brain makes it very dangerous. Surgery is scheduled for August 16th and your prayers will be greatly appreciated. Needless to say, Pam is devastated but she clings to her faith in God and we all pray for another miracle and she yields to His will be done.

In saying all that, Pam pretty much exhausted her leave time from work during the first incident. She has insurance but you cannot imagine the cost of a month in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as well as all the doctors fees, therapies and meds she has incurred. Her insurance did not come close to covering all of the cost. Now she has this surgery coming up and she is swimming in debt already from the first surgery with no end in sight.

We prayerfully ask that you will donate to her cause and help her stem the cost of this. She is single, a kind, precious person with a big heart and throughout her life always provides a helping hand when and wherever she sees a need. Please SHARE with Family and Friends and thanks for finding it in your heart to help in this urgent cause.....God Bless!!
