Cost of living fundraiser for Kim Chuck
Donation protected
I’m Natalie and I’ve started this fundraiser to help my aunt Kim pay for her living needs over the next few months.
This is an emergency fundraiser as Kim is facing eviction on December 22nd.
My aunt Kim is a hard worker, cares deeply for the people she loves and makes the best pasta salad for family holidays.
Thank you for your support in giving her the help she needs in this, her hour of need.
About Kim’s Situation
Kim has worked at a local grocery store for 25 years serving fresh fish, oysters and more(!) and has only had to leave work due to health issues that prevent her from completing her usual work tasks. This kind of service work, namely repetitive motions, really wears on larger joints.
Since April she’s had to be off work, in recovery from the third in a sequence of surgeries to rebuild her right shoulder. She’s had two knee replacements and is awaiting more surgery to help with her left shoulder.
Now that she’s healed, Kim wants to be back at work, but delayed insurance claims and approvals for her role’s reinstatement keep holding up the return to work process. She is still waiting for a return to work date.
Kim’s Request
Kim’s small monthly insurance payments are not even enough to cover her rent. She’s used up all of her emergency savings and called in all the favours she can.
If her rent is left unpaid, Kim will have to leave her apartment with nowhere to go on December 22nd.
This recent change from fully providing for herself to now depending on subsidized government income has been an extremely difficult adjustment, on top of the financial instability it creates for Kim.
On Kim’s behalf, I’d like to thank you for your consideration.
