Cory’s Pancreatic Cancer Fund

Please help my son, Cory Groover, in the fight of his life. Cory’s dad was a Houston Fireman for 21 years before he passed away in a house fire. Now Cory is fighting for his life against Terminal Pancreatic Cancer. Cory has a beautiful 20 month old daughter and is getting married on October 30,2021. Cory is one of the funniest people you will ever meet and he has a great love for creating things and loves being with his family. Now here is the events that has crippled his family in the last few weeks written by his wife Sarah.

On July 13th, I took Cory to the ER for abdominal pains. He had a CT scan and we found out the pain was caused by an acute flare up of Pancreatitis. We went home with an all liquid diet and pain managing instructions. The issues subsided and he was fine for a while.   On October 17th, Cory's 31st birthday, he came inside from mowing the grass with a fever and intense abdominal pain. We thought it was another Pancreatitis flare up, and so I took him back to the ER.  After new CT imaging, the doctors said they had found 'lesions' on his pancreas and they wanted to do further imaging and tests. He was admitted into the hospital. These were not there three months prior in July.  They ordered an ultrasound, and told us there were also lesions on his liver. Again, new since his last visit in July.  They followed this with an MRI, to confirm what they were seeing.
The next day, while still admitted to the hospital, they performed and endoscopic biopsy of the lesions on his pancreas and liver. The day following this we were told these lesions were actually tumors, and his CA 19-9 levels were 10,000x the usual level, a common symptom associated with Pancreatic Cancer.  After they sent his biopsy to two pathology labs, our worst fears have been confirmed. Cory was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
Because the Cancer has already spread to his liver, it is currently stage 4 and inoperable. Soon we will begin our journey with chemotherapy to attempt to shrink/dissolve the tumors on his liver, which *should* allow them to remove his pancreas, which will in turn leave him a permanent diabetic.”

Cory lost his Mamaw, my mom, in January 2011 to Pancreatic Cancer which is a very rare fast spreading cancer and his Papaw, my dad, in October 2016 to Leukemia. Sarah also had her great grandparents pass away from Cancer.

All money that is donated to this fund will go to medical bills, treatments, special needs of Cory while going through all this and any other bills they will need help with as Cory can no longer work.

It feels like Cancer has taken away so many of our loved ones and Cory is going to fight everyday to live to see his sweet daughter grow up.

We thank you in advance for any donation you chose to give as even the smallest gift will bless this family.
