Cory’s fight for life

Cory has been battling COVID for 3 weeks. On Monday November 16th he went to St.Francis medical center with low oxygen levels. He fought the virus for 2 weeks on his own with high levels of supportive oxygen. Saturday November 30th the medical team decided that putting him on a ventilator was the best option for him. With little improvement yesterday the pulmonologist made a call to his colleagues at Bergan Mercy in Omaha to see if they would accept Cory for ECMO treatment. With Gods hand in this puzzle that has a lot of decision making medically they were able to accept him. Bergan Mercy has 2 ECMO machines, 1 happen to be available and they had 1 bed available yesterday. 

Cory was transferred by helicopter yesterday to Bergan Mercy and started on ECMO at 6
pm this evening. 

Cory has a wife, Robyn, who has been by his side as much as the hospital and COVID rules have allowed her. Together they have 6 kids who have had to visit with them via face time and text messages. 3 of their kids are still at home. 

Any donation will help their family with expenses not only incurred medically but also expenses for travel to Omaha, eating there, lodging etc.

He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
