This is to help Molly with all of the medical expenses that she will be taking on as well as support for her family. We all feel helpless wanting to help as much as possible. This is going to significantly help her and her family as they navigate what's to come.
On Saturday, May 1st, Cory fell down the stairs at his house after putting the kids to bed. He is currently in the ICU. He suffered three brain bleeds, a ruptured spleen, a broken femur, and facial fractures on the right side of his head. The doctors were able to immediately perform a procedure to repair his spleen that went well. He had a good night last night and the pressure in his brain was consistent. This means no new bleeds. (Thank you, God!) The doctors are running another CT scan. They are planning to do surgery on his femur today. Luckily, that was a horizontal break, which means it should heal faster than a vertical break.
Cory is currently on a breathing machine and has shown only slight responses. It is unclear if those are intentional or not. This is not uncommon with a brain injury. He is no longer on sedation meds but is on low pain meds.
At this point it is a waiting game. The doctors have shared that this will be a slow recovery, and there will be good and bad days. In the ICU, only one person is allowed in the room with him at a time. Cory's family has been able to see him. Molly has not left the hospital. Molly's Mom and sister are taking care of the kids
