Corynne is our beautiful, fierce 17 year old daughter! As most of you know, she unfortunately suffered a blood clot in the basilar artery of her brain stem, that caused two strokes. This happened in April of this year, her diagnosis is functioning quadriplegic on ventilator support!

After a tedious search for a rehab facility to take her in, We all landed in St. Louis Missouri, After losing our jobs and our homes, and most of everything inside of them, in June.

Ronald McDonald house would not allow the entire family to stay because of Covid restrictions, so my mother took that housing ,And we ( myself , husband and Corynnes sister)had to find out of pocket housing. I am also almost 30 weeks expecting.

Corynne is stable enough to be discharged after months of intensive therapy, however since we have moved up here without a choice, to go through this rehabilitation program, we no longer have housing back home in De Soto County Mississippi.

They are suggesting we allow Corynne to go out of state again to another long-term live-in facility ( either Indiana or Kentucky)that does not allow caregiver involvement. We simply cannot allow that to happen and do not have the means to move again. Not to mention the detrimental effects it would have on her mind spirit and morale.

This fund is specifically set up for housing and utility costs for one year, until we can establish a permanent residence that can be modified to except her medically. ( Handicapped bathroom, wide doorways, ramps, etc)

Many have already given to the other fundraisers, and we are so grateful for the support that has helped sustain us these last few months.

Every little bit counts, the sooner that we reach our goal the sooner that she can be discharged, and the sooner that our family can be together again!

Being homeless with a disabled child is a horrible feeling, And my hope as a mother is that my lifelong community will help us get back home.

Next on our list is to find a Landlord that would accept us in these circumstances.
