Hi!
As of yesterday, 6/21/22, Cory is officially home again from the hospital. Sarah has carefully and articulately written thoughtful and detailed updates regarding Cory's health. Please read up if you're unaware of what happened/has happened/might happen this past month of June. https://posthope.org/corys-cardio-crew/journal/date/2022-6
Sarah and Cory share some pretty cool qualities. They are both incredibly thoughtful, hardworking, and have much love and empathy for everyone around them. Another quality they share is that neither one is always very fond of asking for help.
If you are reading this, you likely know both of them and have been positively impacted by them. Please return the favor by helping to support the long and intense road to Cory's recovery. Cory will likely not be able to return to work (which, again, if you know him, will be challenging to do), which will significantly negatively impact their finances as they continue.
By donating, you will be directly supporting Sarah and Cory to help with living expenses (they did just buy a house after all), pet supplies and food (dog food is not cheap, especially because Tessa June is a hongry girl), medical bills, continued medical treatment, food, gas money, etc.
Cory was in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) for weeks. While the folks at St. Lukes helped to save my brother-in-law's life, the bills will soon add up. I am so grateful to Cory, St Luke's, and whatever higher power they may be that Cory is alive and home. It warms my heart and makes me so immensely grateful that I get to continue to see him and that he gets to continue loving my sister. It took a lot of manpower (and womanpower/theythempower, of course) to help Cory, which will be billed here soon. Please take a moment to consider how this will impact their lives.
Again, you probably know these two. Hopefully, you've been impacted by Cory by eating some good-ass food that he made; maybe you've gotten to spend time around him or hear about one of the many things that he is passionate about. Maybe he has listened to you, heard you, validated you, and hugged you. Maybe he's given you a sticker he designed or made you laugh. And beside him, you've likely had similar experiences with Sarah. She's probably shown you pictures of her dogs, kittens, artwork, and family. She may have given you a job, kept your position open for you, or stayed late to support you. She has probably given you a lot of slack for x amount of reasons because she knows that shit happens. She has probably talked on the phone with you and made you feel genuinely heard and loved.
These two will probably not ask for your help, but I will! Please donate to them!
