I need some help from my friends. You guys have been so generous when I have asked for help for the community and the non-profit, that I feel guilty for having to ask for my own family. I have never asked for anything for me or for my family before, but I need some help.
My son Cory is a Stay At Home single dad raising two beautiful girls pretty much on his own. As my friends know, his 7 year old daughter is severely disabled which means he's home for the long haul. Fortunately, he is studying Cyber Security on the GI bill and will have a job that he can work remotely and still be at home to raise her.
His laptop gave out tonight. Unfortunately mine is old, doesn't hold a charge, and is not really powerful enough for what he needs. I don't have the means to buy him another one. Without a job, he has no credit so he can't finance one.
So I am asking for help. He is doing 21 credit hours, on the Honor Roll and just became some Phi Beta something or other. He has about 2 yrs. left of school. Not only are all but one of his classes online but they are all computer classes. Without a laptop he is screwed.
Why $2500 for a laptop? Well his school/career choice (Cyber Security) requires some pretty demanding specs and the farther he gets the more powerful computer he is going to need. So I am trying to raise enough for a 16" Macbook Pro. If we don't get that much we will buy a lesser computer. But I believe in ask for what you need.
Thank you guys for taking the time to read this. I know everyone has been helping out a lot of causes lately and there has been a lot of need. I just thought I would put this out there and hope someone might have a little extra they could send his way.
