Cory & Melissa McIntyre

Melissa has been my best friend for over 21 years. She is an amazing person and the most amazing friend I could ever ask for. Melissa and Cory have 4 amazing kids, Bella (9), Rhett (6), Riker (4), and Arella (1). Today her family received, the most devastating news anyone can ever get. Melissa’s husband Cory was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal colon cancer which is not curable. During Cory’s appointment today with the Cancer center his prognosis was determined to be 5 to 24 months, as cancer has spread from his colon to his liver and his lungs. This news is not something anyone ever anticipates they will hear in their lifetime. Cory is in immense pain and is mostly bedridden currently and is unable to work. Cory was the main income earner in their household and the loss of his income is not something they can financially afford. He has applied for EI but we all know how slowly the government moves. Not to mention it's not even close to his normal income! To compound this issue Melissa has just returned to work from maternity leave. Between the expenses to do will’s, power of attorney and daycare start-up fee’s the McIntyre’s have used up their savings. Cory is going to fight to stay with his family and at this time they need any help they can get.

Melissa and Cory are wonderful people who always help others where they can. I recently left a relationship and needed somewhere to stay temporarily. Cory and Melissa took me and my daughter and noisy dog in, no questions asked and made us feel at home. They provided us with comfort, warmth and food during a time when we had nothing. We would all be incredibly grateful if you could find it in your hearts to help this family financially while they struggle to find ways to get by and enjoy the moments they have left together.

Monday, March 6th Cory will go for surgery to assist with his bowel obstruction, to allow them to start his chemotherapy. Any donations will go directly to support to cover household and medical expenses.
