We all know that anything can happen at any time, but most of us aren't adequately prepared for tragedy. This is where Cory Edmiston's family find themselves at the moment.
There were no major warning signs. Just a touch of indigestion, and a little fatigue that morning.
No one saw this coming.
No one.
On the morning of January 26th of this year, Cory Edmiston of Eldorado, TX had a heart attack in his home and passed away at the young age of 48. He left behind his wife and best friend, Erin and their 3 children.
Cory was the sole source of income for their family for the last 27 years. He worked hard as an independent insurance adjuster so that his wife, Erin could be home to raise their 3 beautiful children. Even still, like many of us, they lived "paycheck to paycheck". Except, now there is no paycheck coming in.
Three weeks have passed, and the process of finalizing Cory's affairs and getting used to life without him have been challenging for his loved ones. Erin now finds herself as a single parent entering the workforce after nearly 3 decades of being a homemaker. Their 2 daughters, Alyssa and Shayle are grown women living on their own, but their 17-year-old son Ryker is still a high school student living at home.
It is now up to Erin and Ryker to make sure the money is coming in.
The community they live in is rural and small. Jobs are not abundant there, and they will likely have to commute to larger more urban areas to find gainful employment. The job searching will take time and money, but we all know the bills won't stop accumulating in the meantime. Allowances for times like this are only made for so long.

Trying to focus on finding jobs, going to school, and maintain the home all while navigating immeasurable grief... can you even imagine it?

I am asking you to please help this family in any way that you can. They have been blindsided but, not defeated. They just need a little extra support to see them through the other side of the sudden and tragic loss of Cory.
Every donation helps Erin keep her son and herself fed, and the lights on until she gets her bearings without her partner in life.
Every donation helps give peace of mind to Alyssa and Shayle while they aren't able to be near to their mother and brother.
Every donation helps take pressure off of Ryker, who has been thrust into full blown adulthood far too early by the loss of his father.

I only wish I could give them the thing they truly want and need, which is Cory. Unfortunately, no one can make that happen. We can only offer the support we're capable of, so I'm asking you to do that right now. Anything at all you can do to help is greatly and sincerely appreciated.

Even if you aren't in a position to donate please, share this post. You never know who it might reach.

Thank you for taking the time to learn their story.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
