The Corwyn Wilkey Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Elise and I’m fundraising for my friend Corwyn…father, accomplished horn player and vocalist, artist, writer, athlete, friend…fighting daily since he was diagnosed with an ultra rare neurological degenerative neuromuscular autoimmune disease called Moersch-Woltman Syndrome, more commonly known as stiff person syndrome. It is a progressive and terminal disease and there is no cure. This is one of the rarest diseases in the world. The variant that Corwyn has is the rarest. There may be only 600 people in the whole world that have the same disease he has. It can cause spasms strong enough to dislocate and break bones! Currently he is managing his symptoms the best he can and is determined to live his life well!
Corwyn also recently fought Guillain-Barré syndrome TWICE and spent the last year working hard with experts, therapy, surgery and more while having to be extremely far from his children, family and home. You could see him working out in his wheelchair determined to get his workout in daily to gain as much strength and quality of life as possible.
He recently returned back to his home in Alaska where he has two beautiful young children and is working very hard to reestablish 50/50 custody. He’s currently starting over from scratch to collect furniture, books and household items, keeping up with medical bills while 100 percent on disability because he’s unable to work due to the fact that he’s full time managing this illness. Despite these challenges he always faces forward admirably with strength and grace.
Corwyn is one of the most inspiring and talented people I’ve met in my life and he needs help. If you are willing to help and contribute to get him back on his feet so he can give his children their best quality life together, it would be beyond appreciated. Corwyn is a wonderful and humble person. Let’s help him if we can!
Thank you so much for your consideration!
