The CorvallisSewingBrigade has delivered over 70,000 reusable cloth face masks to first responders, frontline workers, essential workers, and high risk community members free of charge since March 21, 2020. Our supplies have been 100% from personal donation of fabric, thread, and elastic from brigade member’s homes. What monetary donations we have received, have gone back into purchasing more of these essential items. Most of our members have now donated what they can from their own supply and have even spent hundreds of dollars of their own money to make sure we could continue. Now, as businesses are reopening and workers are figuring out how to make sure they are covered, our fabric reserves are dwindling. We are also getting new requests to support evacuees from area fires. Our requests for masks have not slowed. There is still great need and we are asking for your financial support, as you are willing and able, to purchase more fabric and thread and elastic to keep this brigade moving at this pace- the CorvallisSewingBrigade.org is cranking out 1,000 masks per week at minimal or no cost to the requesters for sturdy, handmade masks. If you can, would you please contribute to this fund to help us buy more supplies to continue our work? Thank you in advance for whatever you can do- even if it is just to share this with people you think would be willing to help. We are grateful for every gesture! All the best, Elizabeth Wyatt and the CorvallisSewingBrigade.org
