Cortisol, a new play by Megan Haly & Shannon Haly
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
We are Megan Haly and Shannon Haly – playwrights and actors from Cork. Yes, we have the same surname – we are sisters!
We have written a play together called Cortisol. Cortisol is a queer coming of age story that interrogates the tale we are fed that ‘our twenties are the best years of our life.’
We are so excited to announce that we are bringing Cortisol to Dublin this September and Cork in October!!!
So we are reaching out to our supporters/friends/family and asking for any donation you can give - as little as €1, £1, $1, even the price of one coffee would get us a long way in helping us achieve our goal to get Cortisol in front of an audience this year and to pay our incredible creative team!
Cortisol is inspired by our own experiences of being in our twenties. The more we spoke to other people our age, and connected with thousands of people on our TikTok @cortisolplay, the more it became apparent how universal that feeling seems to be, and how accustomed we all are with that familiar stress hormone, Cortisol.
We had a rehearsed reading to a sold out audience in New York last May and we also took part in CATALYST, a new initiative supported by The Everyman, Cork Arts Theatre and Cork City Council where we performed two sold out readings last September. Both readings were received extremely well and we are now so excited to get Cortisol to full production in 2024!
Big hugs & thank you so much in advance,
Megan and Shannon Haly x
