Hi my name is Kendra and I am fundraising for the Ross Family.
The new parents welcomed their first baby spontaneously while on a cruise for a family vacation. The baby was born at 28 weeks gestation on the ship and required immediate medical intervention. Mother and baby remained hospitalized on board the ship for an additional 10+ hours before the family was able to disembark at the next Port in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The family was admitted to the nearest local hospital with a neonatologist in St. Ann’s Bay. At this time Baby Boy Ross was able to be incubated and receive proper medical care. After two days, the family was medically evacuated back to the US. Baby is now stable in NICU and anticipated to stay until he reaches full gestation (8-12 weeks from arrival). Parents live 3.5hrs away from the NICU and have to commute and find accommodations to visit baby while he is in care.
Funds are being requested to help aid in travel and medical expenses including:
Medical care on the ship, hospital supplies for mom and accommodations while in Jamaica, ambulance and air-ambulance charges, gas and accommodations while traveling to the NICU, applying for citizenship for baby, and any related travel expenses. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated to assist the Ross family with these unexpected expenses. Thank you.
