For those of you who don't know, 12 years ago Corrin suffered a cardiac arrest do to a genetic heart condition and as a result has had to rely on an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) that was installed in her chest. This device is capable of correcting most life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias and has saved her life on a few occasions. The ICD was working fine until early last Saturday morning (10/16) when she was awakened by multiple back to back intense shock treatments. This was an abnormal, very painful, and unexpected event. Upon admission to the emergency room she learned that a lead in the ICD connecting to her heart was fractured causing the device to malfunction.

With the device disabled she has no heart protection and MUST be admitted to the hospital where she can be under 24 hour monitoring of her heart.

Further investigation determined she needed to transfer to UCLA hospital where they will be able to perform a procedure that removes the faulty device and replaces it with a new and improved one. Only UCLA has the specific laser needed for the surgery.

Due to LACK OF BED SPACE at UCLA she has been forced to wait where she is with no time frame given as to how long it will take before she can be transferred for her surgery. As a result, she is unable to work and has an unforeseeable amount of expenses to face and with very minimal insurance coverage to help her.
