Corrina Van Wagoner Cancer Relief Fund

Hello everyone, Jeff Truhn here. On Sunday February 25th my dear girlfriend Corrina Van wagoner and I were given the terrible news that she has cancer. After a whirlwind of appointments, biopsies, repeated imaging and visits with a variety of oncology specialists, that cancer was given a name. That name is stage four Metastatic Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) which is the most common form of breast cancer. With early detection, this cancer has a very high survivorship rate, unfortunately it was not detected in a timely fashion, and we have quite the fight ahead of us. Don't get me wrong, we are hell bent on surviving this, but it's a doozy. The disease has spread to her lymph nodes and into her spine as well as nodules throughout her torso. Not exactly the diagnosis we want, but it's the diagnosis we've got.

On Friday the 22nd of March, she went in for an invasive spinal surgery to attempt to remove as much of an offending tumor in her T9 vertebrae, as well as fusing several surrounding vertebrae. This tumor has been pressing against her spinal cord as it has been growing, causing difficulty with mobility and disabling pain. This was our first step in trying to restore some much needed movement and freedom from this pain. The next step for Corrina will be to start treating the disease through radiation and pharmaceutical means.

As I had previously stated, we have a long fight ahead of us, and we are just getting started. Corrina is a single mom and unable to work at this juncture and any funds raised through this effort will go toward covering living expenses in our household and any out of pocket medical expenses that already seem to be mounting. We know that times are tough for everyone and appreciate anything you can spare. Cancer sucks, but life still rules.
