Corpsing - A Student Film

We are a group of student filmmakers in the midst of making our final film project before graduation. Our film is an experimental horror short about a VCR recording of a sitcom episode with strange supernatural disturbances. The film follows the airing of an episode of the sitcom, 'Death & Taxes' in which the two children of the Delaney family attempt to sneak out to a party. The disturbing twist is that in place of the character of Roger, their father, is a corpse. Throughout this episode, however, the rest of the cast of characters seem to interact with this corpse as though he is a living, speaking person. This supernatural corruption leaks into the ad break as ads for frozen foods become ads for eating hair and pharmaceutical ads promote cyanide pills. When the show continues, the chaos only intensifies as audio of the actors and crew discovering the body of the actor who plays Roger is heard in replacement of the episode's dialogue. This all climaxes as Roger is revealed to be in an afterlife isolated from everyone and everything, forced to play out the sitcom episode in front of an empty audience.
The video attached to this project is a previously made short that operates as a proof of concept of sorts for this film.
