This is a completely community driven non profit project.
Intro:
If you're reading this you know whats happening in the world right now, and you know how much we all have at risk by not helping the people directly dealing with this. You probably also might know that we have a little community project going producing DIY PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for healthcare/emergency workers. We've been mostly making face shields and masks and we've gotten a good amount of them out to healthcare and emergency workers in the NJ (and some NY) area. There have been all types of volunteers helping us and people donating their supplies and their time in helping get these items to where they're needed most. We will continue to make these, however we'd like to move onto the next stage of our project and expand a bit, and this is how we best think it can be done. And I really hope you can help!
Our upcoming project:
We have already purchased a 3d Printer thats on the way, partly thanks to costs fronted by amazing people who have already donated. We'd like to expand and purchase a few more along with enough non-toxic and UV resistant plastic filament that can help serve the unfortunate need we have to fill for the healthcare workers that protect us every day. Almost everyday I have a new friend who is a healthcare/emergency worker that is quarantined at home because of the lack of protection they've had and Im tired of dealing with that. After exhausting all available solutions, we think this is the best idea:

This is a public design freely available online, it is structurally similar to one that the Marine Corp is using for their troops stationed in Japan, and is the same one the Navy is now also using. The beauty of this design is that it allows for easy sterilization, the elastic straps will be easily replaceable and the material/fabric/filters will be replaced. The way the frame is set up, also allows for a better seal than most available DIY masks.
Obviously this is no real replacement for n95 and other officially recognized PPE that healthcare workers need, but this is one of the best solutions we've seen available that can be made cheaply, quickly, in large amounts and can be easily adjusted/cleaned.
Everything we make will be donated to healthcare/emergency workers, we may in the future sell the plastic frames with all the profits going to creating more to donate. Anything you donate will go to the creation of these frames, they will go into parts for face shields not covered on our amazon supply list, supplies for sewn masks and they will go into wholesale items we'll need such as filtering materials, elastics, tools, shipping, etc.
We are also interested in creating these types of items to help healthcare/emergency workers deal with the damage these masks do, we are already creating headbands that connect to the masks to reduce wear on ears but we'll also be printing these:
How you can help:
Donate, anything you can spare helps us out. Do not donate in the case that it is not financially responsible for you!
Help us build PPE, You can sew masks, make face shields, sew the button bandanas, anything! Please contact us if you'd like any advice or guides (check out facebook group)
Help us drive completed PPE to hospitals/staff that need it
Help us get in contact with healthcare/emergency workers you know that need supplies, we will do our best to get it to them.
Stay home! check out and stay tuned to our facebook group :)
