Bertha Hernandez Coronary Bypass

Hello everyone!

My name is Arabella and I live in the UK. I am a close friend of BERTHA’s son EFRAIN and I have set up this Go Fund Me campaign to help raise money so that Bertha can have the triple coronary bypass she very urgently needs. 

As some of you may know Bertha (Efra's & Waleska's grandmother) has unfortunately suffered two cardiac arrests. The first was on 7th December 2019; as a result of this cardiac incident Bertha was scheduled for cardiac catheterisation. Unfortunately, after Bertha’s second cardiac arrest  in January 2020 the doctors determined she would need a triple heart bypass as she had suffered 90% damage to her right coronary artery and a  60% blockage to her left coronary artery. This has caused her blood pressure to  increase to life-risking levels of over 180/10mHg.

Unfortunately, Bertha lives in Venezuela, a very beautiful country but where medical care is exceedingly difficult to access. Her family raised the necessary money for Berta to have  the cardiac catheterisation. They cannot, however, raise the £18,000 needed to fund Bertha’s triple heart bypass, especially in the limited amount of time Bertha has available  

Bertha is a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her family and friends are doing everything they can to raise the money needed for Bertha’s surgery.  Funda Cardio, a non-governmental organization established in Venezuela 25 years ago, has agreed to help with the funding. However, this still leaves a massive £18,000 that the family and friends of Berta need to raise for her surgery to go ahead. 


Please, please help us raise this money which we so urgently need to save Bertha’s life.

Como algunos de ustedes saben, Bertha (La abuela de Efra y Waleska) lamentablemente ha sufrido 2 ataques cardíacos desde el 7 de diciembre de 2019. Después de la primera visita de emergencia al hospital, quedó claro que Bertha tenía que ser programada para una
Cateterización cardiaca. Más tarde, los resultados mostraron que se necesitaba con urgencia una cirugía de triple bypass después de su segundo paro cardíaco en enero.

Su corazón sufrió un daño del 90% en su arteria coronaria derecha y un bloqueo del 60% en su arteria coronaria izquierda como resultado de estos ataques cardíacos. Esto ha provocado que su presión arterial aumente constantemente a niveles que ponen en riesgo su vida (180 / 13mHg). Desafortunadamente, Bertha vive en Venezuela, un país muy hermoso, pero donde la atención médica es extremadamente difícil de acceder. Su familia recaudó dinero para que a Bertha le implantaran un stent. Durante esta operación, los médicos descubrieron el alcance total del daño en el corazón de Bertha y determinaron que solo un triple bypass puede salvarle la vida.

Bertha es una querida madre, hermana, abuela y amiga. Su familia y amigos están haciendo todo lo posible para recaudar el dinero necesario para la cirugía de Bertha. Funda Cardio, una organización no gubernamental establecida en Venezuela hace 25 años, acordó ayudar con el financiamiento. Sin embargo, esto todavía deja un enorme £ 18,000 que la familia y los amigos de Bertha necesitan recaudar para que su cirugía continúe.
