Coron Animal Savers

Thank you everyone so much for all your donations. You are making a huge difference to the lives of many animals in desperate need. We are temporarily pausing donations but will be accepting them again very soon.

During my travels in the Philippines I quickly realised the devastating situation on the island of Coron.

Stray dogs and even owned dogs are abused and neglected here. People own them, but many do not feed them. Many are chained and left without access to food or water and are left for dead.

A van dives around the island catching stray dogs off the street. They are taken to the dump and abandoned without food or water.

I visited this dump and the men working there didn't like me coming in as they said they didn't want a foreigner seeing what goes on there. There was a cage where hundreds of dogs were kept, starved, and left to die.

Coron Animal Care is a very small group of people with huge hearts. They appear to be the only people on the island who cares about these dogs and will do everything they can to save them. The group have rescued many dogs from neglect and starvation, but sadly vet bills are high and more dogs need saving every day.

Many of the dogs at the shelter need urgent medical help. Hundreds of other dogs also need saving. Any donations will go towards vet bills, food, medication and supplies. We also need cages to make catching strays in need easier and building work at the shelter to keep the dogs safe.
