**LOGLINE**
An intransigent and aloof octogenarian attempts to repair his relationship with his estranged trans granddaughter by glueing himself to her landlord's office only to realise that sometimes words speak louder than actions - except when the landlord comes looking for revenge.
SYNOPSIS
Cornelius, an intransigent and aloof octogenarian, glues himself to a local real estate office in a misguided attempt to protest the rental crisis that his estranged transgender granddaughter, Alice, is trapped in. When she is forced to rescue him before Thomas, her vengeful real estate agent, can return, Corni realises that he might have irrecoverably damaged his relationship with her. Back at Alice’s place, Corni attempts to empathise with her, but is interrupted when Thomas enters, ready to tear down her living arrangement. Cornelius lures the landlord into his trap, leaving Thomas glued to the couch until he backs down, allowing Alice to finally hear her grandfather accept her identity. Alice and Corni watch Thomas sulk away as they embrace, finally able to see one another.

DIRECTORS VISION
Corni was directly inspired by a bizarre conversation that I had with my grandfather 7 or 8 years ago.
My grandfather and I have never really been able to emotionally connect, despite being a large part of each other's lives. He loves me, I know that in my head – but in my heart, I just see a man who closes himself off to the world and the people around him. So imagine my surprise when he turns around one day and says, “My generation has messed up the planet for you kids, I’m going to join the next climate protest and march down the street!” It felt like – for once, in his own weird, abstract way – he was trying to tell me that he loved me, that he saw my challenges and was willing to fight for me.
That’s what this film is about. Finding joy and connection in people that you had given up hope on. Laughing in the face of a cruel world with your loved ones held closely at your side. Cherishing those moments and remembering them forever. Love you, Granddad!
By supporting QSFT students with your generous donation, will help contribute to the growth of the success of future film makers, enhancing their portfolios and future careers. Whether large or small, every contribution will have a meaningful impact, ensuring our dedicated team can bring this incredible production to life.
In our appreciation we will honour your donation and include your name or business in the films credits as a gesture of our thanks. We intend on showcasing this film in a wide range of festivals throughout Queensland and across Australia.
