Cornerstone Farm and Rescue

Hi. My cousin and his girlfriend have a rescue farm in Bellingham. This couple have hearts of gold and would help anyone and any animal in need. Now they need help and I am asking for help for them. Please share this. During a storm, their barn was destroyed by a fallen tree. Recently he posted this on his FB.

Sadly, our rescue mission is in jeopardy. On December 18, a tree fell on our barn, essentially destroying it. Our insurance company has denied our claim, stating that our policy was voided due to the fact that we sell eggs in our farm stand, and some of the chickens sleep in a small corner of the barn. They said that this constitutes using the barn as a business, and since we were not insured as a business, they are declaring our policy null and void. We brought the case to a lawyer who specializes in these cases, and he told us today he does not recommend fighting this, as unethical as it is.

It will take us years to be able to rebuild the barn, and until we can do that we will have to change our game plan. We are feeling pretty down about it, but we have to move on and deal with it with as much positive energy as possible. Life throws punches, and you have to get up when you’re knocked down. This couple are amazing and have rescued so many animals.
