Sara Prochaska is an amazing woman who has done so much for so many people. I would like to help her in a real time of need.
On Feb 12, 2020 Sara had to have an emergency Cornea Transplant to repair a perforation in her cornea while trying to treat an ulcer created after trying to fix her dry eyes. The treatment prescribed caused the perforation. In the mean time, she has been diagnosed with Sjogrens syndrome, an autoimmune disease that makes healing from the transplant a high risk. She has managed to save her eye thus far but still is at high risk for infection due to the slowness of healing and the lack of moisture in the eyes.
Sara is self-employed. She creates western wear out of her home. Mainly rodeo queen chaps, vests, accessories and more. Her favorite part of making these items is helping these young women realize their vision and to create a high quality item that they will treasure for years to come. Her goal is to have a pair of chaps go to every state in the United States. She is not far from that goal. Sara started this business to honor her daughter, DJ, that passed away in high school years ago. DJ always wanted her mother to make her love of chap design a business she could share with others. Everything Sara creates has a piece of DJ's memory going out with it.
Being Self-Employed she is unable to be productive enough to meet the needs of her medical and travel bills. She has been unable to work due to her eyesight for 6 weeks prior to the surgery and it appears that it make take 6-9 months before her sight is restored. Her medical appointments are a 6 hour round trip.
Her insurance is COBRA and is very expensive, and like any insurance, is definitely giving her the run around in a time when she needs to rest and heal. She is needing to make another payment for March.
In addition to raising money for bills, Sara would like to donate 10% of any money raised to organ donation/saving sight in honor of her donor. Sara's daughter was also an organ donor, so organ donation is a very large part of Sara's heart.
If you have ever been touched by Sara's creations, her infectious laughter, shared a love of animals from horses to dogs etc., to having a personal connection with her and knowing her giving heart please consider donating to her cause!!
