A few months ago I met the most amazing selfless person, whose sole purpose in life was to help as many stray, terrified and doomed animals in her home town in Romania. Her name is Corina, and she is my hero. She is a young woman living in Petrila, 300 km from Bucharest. She is volunteering at a public animal shelter. She works day and night to give these animals a chance of finding a forever home or just to avoid euthanisation for another month. Corina and some friends do the best they can to take in and re-home as many of these doomed animals as they can.  Corina travels to Germany to work all the hours she can for a few months, saves up and comes back to rescue more. In the past two years, Corina and her friends have saved over 500 dogs and given them forever homes. 

I met her via Facebook by chance, and we started talking about her struggle to keep as many animals alive. We have worked together to get some sent over to the UK; they are the lucky ones. Most will never find a home, and if the shelter is full, they are put down after 14 days.

She shares posts on Facebook, and other amazing people have helped donate towards keeping the animals alive in the shelter, and some have been adopted. She has been sending as many animals to friends and family in an attempt to re-home them away from the ticking clock in the shelter. However, she is reaching her limit. Money is running out; friends have no space and dogs are going to be put down.

After talking to her recently, I couldn't help but think I need to do more! Paying €30 to keep the dogs alive for a month, as amazing as this is, most will not find a home.
"It feels like we are putting a bandaid on a broken leg!"

In a desperate effort to do more I am starting this crowdfunding page to raise £9000. With this money, Corina will buy land and set up a private kennel. This would mean hundreds of dogs could be saved and re-homed each year.
My aim is to reach this goal as soon as possible. The sooner Corina can get the land the sooner dogs can be saved.

I hope everyone reading this will donate a small amount to this fantastic cause. Not everyone can re-home, but you can give generously. I will be eternally grateful and so will the animals we can save (even if they don't know it yet.)
