Cori & Amie Munro are need some help from our wonderful community.

About a month ago, one of their 4 children, Bentley began complaining off and on about abdominal pain. At first it was intermittent, but about two weeks ago the pain became more consistent and was happening daily. They brought her to the family doctor, who referred her for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that her liver and spleen were enlarged.

She was then sent for bloodwork. When those results came back, they were directed immediately to CHEO for further testing and evaluation.

After a series of tests, the medical team felt they were close to identifying the cause. However, due to complications with her blood, they were not comfortable performing the required procedure there. With less than 12 hours notice, Bentley was airlifted to Toronto for specialized care at SickKids.

She has since undergone a liver biopsy. Once the final diagnosis is confirmed, the medical team will begin treatment and monitor her response.

At this time, Bentley is tolerating medicine but her liver is not responding quickly and will need to stay in Toronto until her body starts recovery or another diagonis is made by the medical team.

Amie is in Toronto with Bentley and costs are increasing daily for the family. Cori is home with the other 3 children holding down the fort.

We are asking for your help to offset costs associated with medical care and lodging for Amie while she supports Bentley in this journey.
