Corey is the kind of person who always puts others first. A social worker who has dedicated her life to helping those in need, she’s the heart of every community she’s a part of. Whether it’s volunteering for local organizations, raising
funds for causes, or simply offering a listening ear, Corey’s generosity knows no bounds. She’s the one who organizes and mobilizes, the one who makes everyone feel heard and understood. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Corey’s presence lights up any room she enters.
But right now, Corey needs help—something that’s incredibly hard for her to ask for, as she’s always the one giving.
Corey has been diagnosed with a large mass in her abdomen, measuring 18cm x 11cm x 14cm. She will need surgery to remove it, but due to its size and location, the procedure will be complex—requiring a vertical C-section rather than a more typical method. The doctors suspect that the mass is cancerous, and if confirmed, Corey will need to have her uterus, cervix, and possibly her right ovary removed.
The uncertainty of what’s to come is terrifying. Not only does she face the immediate challenge of surgery on June 2nd, but if the mass is cancerous, Corey will need aggressive treatment—likely chemotherapy or radiation—one month after her operation. The road ahead is long and uncertain, and it’s one that she’ll have to face without the ability to work for an extended period of time.
Corey has devoted herself tirelessly throughout her life, pouring her heart into everything she does. At one point, she worked three jobs at once—saving carefully, giving freely, and ultimately becoming the first in her family to buy a
home. That same determination and strength have carried her through countless challenges. But this one isn’t something she should have to carry alone.
This fundraiser is to help cover Corey’s medical expenses, treatment costs, and basic needs while she’s unable to work. It’s a way for those who love her—and even those who simply believe in showing up for someone who’s spent her life showing up for others—to lend some warmth, comfort, and peace of mind during an overwhelming time.
Corey has always been the steady hand, the open heart, and the voice of reassurance. Now, she needs space to heal, and to know that she’s surrounded by the same love and support she’s given so freely.
Thank you for helping us remind her that she’s not alone.
