When I was 10 years old I had a drowning accident in Lake Huron and I almost died. Technically,  I WAS dead for 55 minutes.  As a result, I had damage to my brain and could no longer walk, use my arms, or speak. I even had to eat and drink through a tube in my stomach. I was told that I would never speak again. 

Today, I am 19 years old and have just completed my first year of college. (Art school  in Minneapolis). I lived in the dorms and even had a part time job!

After ALOT of physical, occupational, and speech therapy I can now walk, talk, use my arms, and eat; however I still do not have full use of my arms, hands, and mouth. There is nothing more that OT, PT, and speech therapy can do for me. 

There is a therapy that can still help- that is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. It works by stimulating the stem cells in my body to help repair my brain. It is VERY expensive to get treatments and is NOT covered by medical insurance. In order for me to get the 40 required treatments, it will cost $6,600. 

I do not have the money to pay for the treatments, and neither does my family. This is why I am starting this "Go Fund Me".
