Corey van Kampen's Sacral Nerve Stimulation Device
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Corey van Kampen. 10 years ago - at age 16 - I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Since then I have been diagnosed with many medical complications stemming from the MS, this includes Bilateral Optic Neuritis, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, Constipation, and an Atonic Bladder with Urinary Retention.
Thus far I have been able to live my life using hot showers to assist but it gets tedious needing to take 5-6+ showers a day, it adds up on the water bill and is really hard to have any sort of working or social life based around needing to do this. Over the past year, it has become increasingly difficult to use this method as I have lost near all control of my bladder, leading to hospitalization and being catheterized temporarily. Over the past few years, I have been forced to miss important family gatherings including my sister's wedding, due to the issues caused by travel.
If I can receive funding for the Sacral Nerve Stimulation Device, I would have control over this part of my life again and could attempt to have a normal life with my fiancee, be able to go back into the workforce, socialize with my friends at outings and be able to see family who live far away. This device would literally be a life-changer for myself and my loved ones.
